The book “Trofaiach: Mein Lesebuch” was created in cooperation between students of the Master’s degree program Communication Design and the city of Trofaiach. Dietmar Mosbacher, senior lecturer at Communication Design, took the time to answer a few questions about the publication, the development process and the role of products like “Trofaiach: My Reading Book” in the presentation of rural areas.

At LABUKA, the Book Island the tablet-game “Penjii protects the planet!” was presented. The game was developed as part of the EU-funded project Promoting Green Skills Through Games.

Maximilian Tauß and Stefan Tscheppe, research assistants at the Institute of Design & Communication, visited the Game Dev Days Graz 2019 – a short review.

In October 2019, the Information Design students spent a week in Berlin. On the one hand we expected a lot of inspiration, on the other hand we wanted to make contacts which could be advantageous for our future careers in the fields of Interaction and Media Design.

The Dogdays of summer project was created five years ago. Founded by Clarissa Kober, Diana Ranegger and Johanna Kohlenberger on the idea of sustainability, the three now run a blog in addition to a fixed location in Graz and their own online shop.

At the beginning of the 5th semester the students of the Communication Major were on an excursion in Warsaw, Poland. An unusual destination for designers, but all the more interesting because not everything is perfect and hip as in the big design capital Berlin – there are real problems.

From 5th to 9th of September 2019, the Academic Network Austria Campus-Exhibition “The Messy Shape of Problems” took place at the Ars Electronica Festival 2019.

A festival for creativity, design and communication with a lot of great international speakers.

“What Design can do” is an international festival focussing on topics like humanizing immigrants, the resilient city, creating cultural identity and design activism.

“Gib mir Raum” (“Give me Room”) was the title of the final presentation of the Communication, Media, Sound and Interaction Design students of 2017. When more than 40 young designers work together, something big is about to be created. Everyone has different talents and contributes to an amazing variety of creative work.
