As temperatures start to fall and the first leaves turn orange and brown, we know that autumn is here! And autumn means the start of studying! The beginning of a new year, a new semester and a new stage in life. We are pleased to welcome you back to FH JOANNEUM and have summarised all the information you need for the start of your studies here.

Here you can find out what is required when applying for a study degree programme and how to tackle the admissions process. We have also compiled some tips for the admissions interview.

In September 2022, during the Orientation Program for International Students, the International Relations division welcomed 155 students from 52 countries who have come to study at FH JOANNEUM.

With great pleasure we start the winter semester 2022/2023 under the motto “Presence first”.

The motto for the summer semester 2021 is still “digital first”. Online teaching will continue. Individual face-to-face teaching is possible, and from May 19 students have to be tested, recovered or vaccinated. For the winter semester 2021/2022, we will take all measures to offer face-to-face teaching – practical and project-oriented – again. We look forward to welcoming you in person at FH JOANNEUM as soon as possible!

Thanks to the internet, we are all globally connected and all doors are open to us. And we too open our doors to applicants from all over the world. International and English-taught degree programmes in particular provide students who are not from a German-speaking country with the opportunity to pursue further education. Eiken Nurcelli is one of them and explains her route from Albania to FH JOANNEUM.

Study together, move forward together. This is what we teach and live. We put our students in the spotlight and tell their stories. From the love of their studies to their personal passions and their dream jobs – this is how we are: The community of FH JOANNEUM.

Due to the COVID-19 measures of the federal government, FH JOANNEUM will remain on the traffic light color RED. This means that Distance Learning will continue to apply, with slight relaxation in examinations and classroom teaching.

Based on the decisions taken by the federal government, FH JOANNEUM is switching its study traffic light system to ORANGE. This means FH JOANNEUM will transition to distance learning and the proportion of online teaching will increase to up to 100%. In-person classes will be restricted to practical sessions that are absolutely necessary and adhere to strict safety and hygiene standards.

We invite you to attend our Virtual Open House event between 16:00 and 20:00 on 29 July 2020. Discover the range of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes we offer, and learn more about their content in a few taster lectures.
