The extraction pilot plant is used for developing and optimising methods and processes for the production of extracts, powders and active ingredients for use in the beverage and food industries.
The lab works together with research partners from industry and agriculture to develop products and processes based on plant ingredients and flavours.

The lab is equipped with a DigMaz 10 extraction unit for the production of extracts for the food and beverage industry and also includes facilities for preparative liquid chromatography, a method used for separating individual ingredients from larger samples. This makes it possible, for example, to isolate active ingredients from extracts.
