Mr Sigl joined EASA in 2008. He is currently coordinating the Research portfolio of the Agency and is a member of the EASA innovation cell and the EASA Sustainable Aviation Programme.
He also acted in the Agency as the EASA technical training manager, established the European Central Question Bank (ECQB) for the testing of commercial pilots, coordinated several rulemaking and Agency projects, among others the development of the European AIR OPS rules (R965). He also represented the Agency a Member of the ICAO Flight OPS Panel for several years.
Before joining EASA, he worked among others with the European Commission, in the Permanent Representation of Austria to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.
Mr Sigl holds Master’s degrees in Economics, International Politics, and Business Administration with a specialisation in Aviation. >
